Tranchée de Saint-Baussant

Tranchee de Saint Baussant, north of the village of Flirey, Saint-Baussant is a place of fighting during the 1st World War, mainly in the years 1914-1915. Located on the front line of the Saint Mihiel Salient. The German trenches of Saint-Baussant have been restored and cleared of plants by French and German children who attended summer camps there for that purpose. They spent about eleven years on that. This initiative made it possible to remember and honor the fallen soldiers during the Great War, as well as to forge bonds of friendship between the younger generations of the two neighboring countries.
The visitor will find all information about the battlefield on the many panels.
